With the Scale Prize, Scale aims to encourage promising law students to showcase their legal talent and bring their research to the attention of experienced lawyers. 

Who can participate?
The Scale Prize is open to students who were enrolled in the first or second year of a Master of Laws programme at a Belgian university during the 2025-2026 academic year.


What do you need to submit?
• One recent legal paper per participant;
• The paper must relate to one of Scale’s practice areas (Business, Construction & Real Estate, Public or Social);
• Published papers are eligible;
• The paper may be submitted in Dutch, French, or English;
• Your curriculum vitae (CV).

What can you win?
🥇 First Prize: €5000
🥈 Second Prize: €3000
🥉 Third Prize: €2000
 
In addition, every valid submission will receive a €50 gift voucher, rewarding all participants for their effort. 

How are submissions assessed?
A jury of Scale lawyers will evaluate the papers based on legal quality, relevance, and practical applicability.
