No more basic business management skills required to start as an entrepreneur in the Brussels-Capital Region

7 April 2024

Since 15 January 2024, it is no longer required to demonstrate basic business management skills to start as an entrepreneur in the Brussels Capital Region. The Brussels legislator found that this obligation missed its target and put a brake on the start-up of new businesses.

This relaxation does not come out of the blue. In Flanders, this requirement has been abolished since 1 September 2018. In Wallonia, basic business management knowledge remains required until further notice.
