Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in Law from a Belgian university.
- You are a native Dutch speaker and have a good command of English, both written and spoken, as well as at least a basic knowledge of French.
- You have 5 to 8 years experience in construction law and (inter)national and industrial construction contracts.
- You have a thorough knowledge of construction contracts used in such projects (knowledge of FIDIC and/or NEC contracts is an advantage).
- You have strong communication skills and are able to be assertive when required.
- You are client-focused, pragmatic and capable of managing cases independently.
- You are a true team player and keen to mentor junior colleagues.
What will you do?
- You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts for (inter)national and industrial projects (based on FIDIC, NEC and contract templates inspired by these).
- You will assist clients in disputes arising from such construction projects, both in and out of court.
- You will advise clients throughout the entire lifecycle of such construction projects, covering the pre-construction phase, during project execution and post-completion.
- You will work independently on complex cases and mentor junior colleagues where necessary.
- You will contribute to the further development of the practice group, including through knowledge-sharing and internal and external legal training.
