Joost van Riel is Counsel at Scale.
As part of the corporate M&A team, his focus is on company law.
Joost has built extensive experience in corporate structuring and restructuring matters and advises directors and shareholders on their legal position in companies. He assists various clients (ranging from SMEs and large industrial enterprises to private equity funds) in setting up joint ventures, negotiating and drafting investment and shareholder agreements, and preparing all relevant corporate legal documentation in those matters.
He obtained his law degree in 2013 from KU Leuven and earned an LLM in European competition law and intellectual property rights at the Université de Liège before joining the firm in 2014.
Joost is registered with the Antwerp Bar.
