Marco Schoups is a lawyer at Scale. Marco Schoups obtained his law degree in 1986 from the Catholic University of Leuven magna cum laude. He is a lawyer admitted to the Bar of the Province of Antwerp and the Brussels Bar.
Marco has thirty-five years of experience in assisting companies in procedures and arbitrations, as well as in contract work, providing advice and conducting negotiations. He regularly publishes and gives lectures and in-house training. Since August 2021, he has been recognised as a mediator in civil and commercial matters.
Marco Schoups was the bar president of the Antwerp Bar Association from 2018 – 2020.
Since 2020-2021, Marco has been teaching the practical course 'Construction Law' at KU Leuven.
He is listed in Legal 500 and Chambers as a Leading Individual in Real Estate and Construction.
Marco has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cepani vzw, The Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation, since 2021. He is the vice-chair of the NGO Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) and since 2024 a member of the permanent bureau of the Federal Mediation Commission.
