The Belgian regulator has made an attempt to make the AUR royal decree on payment periods directive-compliant following the Court of Justice judgment of 20 October 2022 (C-585/20). Due to the possibility for procurers to deviate from the new regulation without justification in the contract documents (and thus keep everything as it is), as well as the fact that it will only come into effect from 1 January 2025 for new contracts only, this attempt does not seem to be entirely successful.
